Today, First Federal Execution in 17 Years
Posted by: Mystic Wanderer - 07-14-2020, 08:47 PM - Forum: General News and Events - Replies (17)

Don't ever call President Trump a White Supremacist again. If he was, this man wouldn't have died today.

Quote:TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) — The federal government on Tuesday carried out its first execution in almost two decades, killing by lethal injection a man convicted of murdering an Arkansas family in a 1990s plot to build a whites-only nation in the Pacific Northwest.

The execution of Daniel Lewis Lee came over the objection of the victims’ relatives and following days of legal delays, reviving the debate over capital punishment during a time of widespread social unrest. And the Trump administration’s determination to proceed with executions added a new chapter to the national conversation about criminal justice reform in the lead-up to the 2020 presidential election.

Just before he died at the federal prison in Terre Haute, Indiana, Lee, professed his innocence.
“I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my life, but I’m not a murderer.” said Lee, 47, of Yukon, Oklahoma. “You’re killing an innocent man.”

The government is scheduled to execute two more men this week, including Wesley Ira Purkey on Wednesday for the killing of a Kansas City teenager in 1998. But legal experts say the 68-year-old Purkey, who suffers from dementia, has a greater chance of avoiding that fate because of his mental state.

The decision by the Bureau of Prisons to move forward with executions — the first since 2003 — has drawn scrutiny from civil rights groups and the wider public. Relatives of Lee’s victims sued to try to halt it, citing concerns about the coronavirus pandemic, which has killed more than 135,000 people in the United States and is ravaging prisons nationwide.

Critics argued the government was creating a manufactured urgency for political gain. One of Lee’s lawyers, Ruth Friedman, said it was “beyond shameful that the government, in the end, carried out this execution in haste.”

If he was innocent, as he claimed, then I feel really bad for his family and him.  But for critics to say this was carried out in haste? Come on people! We've been keeping him up for 17 years with our tax payer money! If that's not long enough to prove your innocence, then you're probably not going to prove it.

Another execution is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

Hey everyone,

For those of you who know Wrabbit2000 (he is one of the early founders of Rogue Nation and has been a Moderator on ATS), please read this very carefully.

Steve has put a Facebook post up a few days ago and I talked with him a little earlier on to get his permission to copy it here.

Here is the Facebook post from Steve:

Quote:Dear Friends and Family,

Catherine Arringdale, my wife of 28 years and more, recently underwent surgery in the hospital to remove infected tissue resulting from calcium deposits in Dialysis treatment. The surgery was not successful. What it did do is leave her with large open surgical wounds they say her system cannot heal from.
Catherine has been sent home to be with family here for home Hospice care. She is being kept very comfortable on Morphine and other drugs reserved for palliative care. The doctors have not put any time on her conditions or said 'you have xx days, weeks or months', but all curative or healing oriented care has ceased, including dialysis.

This is a route she chose, after being cancelled on a surgery that was supposed to finish the first one's efforts. She was deemed a poor candidate for a positive outcome moments before she would have gone into pre-op. After that, she has been told there is simply nothing they can do now and she could be home or she could be in the hospital....but the care wouldn't change the end result. This is why she chose to simply come home.

I wish I could say we were hanging in there and making it through...but that isn't accurate. People who know us are aware of the year or more of crisis runs to the hospital every couple weeks, my own acute respiratory failure and very near death in April, as well as her conditions worsening since then.  Things got missed that the other thought was being covered, and we're going into foreclosure on a house we'd paid down to $40,000...probably at or around the same time as Catherine's condition becomes pronounced with Hospice. So, I don't know how much longer I'll be able to come online. When it rains, it pours, and this is a monsoon of rather epic scale.

I had anticipated a couple people being here to help with what needs done and seeing it got there, but for different reasons, they became unavailable and for someone who usually knows just what to do...I have no clue where to even start.... You can never prepare for this sort of loss, especially in slow motion this way....but facing it alone is the hardest part I never imagined would come to pass.

There is one thing I may ask...... Is there anyone in this area possibly interested in some high end electronics and good furniture? A tube radio, original parts, still fully functional from 1939 with one family ownership (stand up console)? I don't ask for handouts and I don't really know how to ask for help, as such, but after the past year we don't even have reserves left for services and such, when the time comes. I just know I have a lot I can sell between electronics and reloading, and at this point...pretty much all we own is up for discussion. Drop me a note if interested in helping in that way.

I'll keep everyone updated as there is something to update. We have not given up, even if medicine has, and are trying to remain positive while sure a miracle will come in healing those wounds. It has to...Right?

Thoughts and Prayers for all of them is an urgent need right now, but it doesn't stop there..

Now, Steve has put a Facebook Donate feature on Facebook that would help cover for memorials.

I understand that not everyone can donate and not everyone is on Facebook either.

So...I asked Steve permission for members (who would wish to) who'd like to donate but do not know how, to donate through the Rogue Nation Donate button - at the bottom of the first page - and we will transfer him the funds.

He is seeking roughly $3500 and has already raised close to $500. Even a $1.00 more would help him out.

Thank you for reading, thank you for the prayers, thank you for those who can donate. For those of you who donate through our donate button here on RN, please leave a comment on this thread with just the word "Donated" so that we know a donation has been done. No need to mention any amount. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Sol ~ for the Admins & Staff of RN. / For Wrabbit2000.

Exclamation Seattle Mayor says Police Cuts are Too Much
Posted by: xuenchen - 07-14-2020, 05:14 PM - Forum: Political News and more - Replies (4)

The Mayor of Seattle is claiming the budget cuts for police "defunding" are too much !! tinylaughing

Same Mayor who allowed violent protesting and massive looting only a few weeks ago !!

Typical Democratik BS because they are claiming to be against something they actually want !!

Big BS coming from Democrat scripted acting and phony attitudes.

Don't get fooled because YOU will pay the price of Democrat dominance agendas !!

All part of the Democrat plan to overload the entire System and defeat Trump in November  tinylaughing

Quote:Mayor Jenny Durkan and Police Chief Carmen Best slammed the Seattle City Council for its push to cut the police budget by 50% at a Monday morning news conference, and instead proposed a more modest $76 million cut amid a "reimagining" of police functions in Seattle.

"We both recognize that we have an historical opportunity and obligation to reimagine how policing can be done in Seattle," Durkan said. "We believe deeply in broad community investments which can build greater community help and less need to call 911 for help."

But she added, "Blunt cuts won't work, and a 50% cut is irresponsible."

  Where are the biohazard bins?
Posted by: GeauxHomeLittleD - 07-14-2020, 04:50 PM - Forum: Physical Health - Replies (3)

Covid-19 is a very touchy subject and the divide in opinions about it keeps growing wider and wider. Let us take a moment and widen it a little further!

While perusing social media I ran across a post made by a friend that made something in my brain "click"

This got me to thinking about things in a different way. I've had a handful of relatives in Texas test positive for Covid-19 (two of them are actively fighting it now) and a few others who were exposed to the virus and had to quarantine. Nobody was given instructions to take extra precautions with used masks or gloves. This makes absolutely no sense to me at all! If it is as contagious as the "experts" say it is then why aren't we handling it like other highly contagious illnesses?

I have cared for friends and family members in the past with highly contagious illnesses (Hepatitis, viral pneumonia, etc.) and was instructed by their doctors that masks, gloves, tissues and other items needed to be handled carefully after use, disposing by placing in sealed Ziploc bag before putting in plastic trash bag (tie trash bag in knot at top) and then place that trash bag inside another trash bag. So if Covid-19 is as contagious as they claim why aren't we being instructed to do the same? Why aren't there biohazard bins all over town for masks and gloves?

The answer is simple: Either the "experts" are not experts, they are lying or they actually WANT it to spread.

Now I have no doubts that there IS a virus going around, in fact several different strains of it, but I do not believe it is any more contagious or dangerous than the seasonal flu or pneumonia. Yes, some people become deathly ill and even die with it but so do people with the flu or pneumonia every single year. The fact is that among people who catch Covid-19 the percentage of people who actually die because of it is miniscule.

For those unaware my uncle had Covid-19 a while back. He caught it while in the middle of his chemo treatments due to colon cancer so he had absolutely no immune system. He spent a couple of days in the hospital (was never on a ventilator) and went home- he was fully recovered and out working in his yard within 2 weeks. When that happened I had a complete change of opinion about the morbidity of the virus. That is why my opinion on the matter is that they are making mountains out of mole hills for some other agenda.

So kiddies wear those masks and gloves because those droplets are so contagious but it's fine to just throw those used masks and gloves all over the place willy nilly because you know- they already served the purpose of making you show your submission to the NWO agenda. JMHO.

  A Time For Reflection
Posted by: NightskyeB4Dawn - 07-14-2020, 04:27 PM - Forum: Daily Chit Chat - Replies (11)

Quote:“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair …, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way …”

While listening to the local news today, I became frustrated with what I was hearing. I would like to bury my head in the sand and just walk away from the media and the internet, but my job makes that an impossibility. Especially right now, when policy and procedure is being dictated by the rulings of the CDC and the State.

So while I was calming myself, and utilizing my self taught techniques for controlling my anger, the quote from "The Tale Of Two Cities", just popped in my head. Followed immediately with,

Quote:“Better never means better for everyone... It always means worse, for some.”

― Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid's Tale

Both gave me pause, because we almost always review and respond to things that affect us on a personal level, this is instinctive and almost automatic. It is not until we reach the point where we realize there is so little that we have any real control over, other than ourselves, and that many of the things we can change, requires the help of others that agree to work with us, that we become more realistically inclusive in our thinking.

When times are good, they are horrible for many others. No one is happily willing to swap places with the man on the cross, regardless of how innocent he is. So we do what we do usually from a sense of what is right and what is righteous, but there will always be others that don't see us as either.

I think it is time to go out with my dogs, and take a walk in the woods. Time to take a break.

I was a ground-pounder, but have to admit to LOL at a lot of these terms.  One example:

Unidentified - Inside America’s UFO Investigation - series on the History Channel
Posted by: ChiefD - 07-14-2020, 02:03 AM - Forum: UFOs, Aliens and Universal Questions - Replies (57)

Hi everyone,

Last summer, a series called Unidentified - Inside America’s UFO Investigation - on the History Channel started. It captivated me from the very beginning, and made my latent interest in UFO’s awake again. There were revelations. The thing I liked most about it was so many of the witnesses to all those UFO’s were credible military personnel. My synopsis starts in the next paragraph. I started the thread originally on ATS, and it got a bunch of responses last year. Now Season 2 has started with even more incredible stuff, at least by the way it looks on the previews. Unfortunately I missed all three episodes of Season 2 and for some reason I cannot see them on demand through my cable system. I will when I get the chance. I hope come of you have seen this incredible series and add to the conversation. I’d love to hear your opinions on this series. If you have any of Season 2, please post about it. Thanks.

I just finished watching the third episode of this series. As a UFO buff and retired Navy veteran, I have to say this is credible and riveting. The people on this series are some pretty high up personnel. These are not tin foil hat nut bag conspiracy theorists. One still has his top secret security clearance.

I am very impressed with the integrity of the people on this series, and how they are investigating this whole phenomenon. As a skeptic myself, I wasn't sure what to expect when I first saw the promos for this series. After the first episode, I turned to my husband and asked what he thought. He stated that he was amazed that it had integrity and wasn't some schlocky presentation. My husband met while in the Navy, and are both 20 year veterans.

I am generally a skeptic when it comes to these things, yet am open minded and eager to learn new things. I thought all the interviews they did were well thought out, and not sensational. As a Navy veteran myself, I can totally understand how difficult it must have been for some of these people to come out and talk about what they witnessed.

In the military, you learn to keep your mouth shut. If you don't, it doesn't take long for others to label you as a crackpot. Especially when you hold a top secret security clearance, as I once did. So I find most of what I've seen as very credible.

Back in the late 80's when I was active duty Navy, I saw something in the sky that I have never mentioned to anyone but my husband until now. It was shaped like a tic tac, and moved about the sky like nothing I've seen. I've seen many different types of military aircraft, and this had no wings, exhaust, windows, and seemed to hover. Then it took off like a flash straight up in the air at an angle that no aircraft of any kind could do, not even to this day. There was no noise or anything involved.

A number of others in the vicinity of where I was saw a similar thing. We never said anything more, because I, along with many others were in fear of losing our security clearances.

There is something out there, and I hope they can find out what it is, before it's too late.

  Wind And Rain
Posted by: Errollorre - 07-14-2020, 01:19 AM - Forum: The Rogue's Music and Media Room - Replies (8)

This is a song I wrote and sing.
I placed the lyrics below
Thank  you for listening.
- Tom

It’s a long long road that we must travel,
With toil and danger on the way.
Full of mysteries we must unravel
if we’re not to go astray.

We chart our course,
assuming fair weather,
Yet we find many storms arise.
Still we venture on,
despite the pressure,
waiting to see clearer skies.

-----------
Through the wind and the rain
we’ll keep on pressing.
Maybe slow but steady on.

Through the dark of night,
we keep progressing,
toward the light of the dawn.

If we fall,
we arise and we shall recover,
Shake off the dust and move along.
We’ve only this time,
there won’t be another,
so we all must be strong.

----------

You can seek advice,
you can walk with another,
as you journey toward your home.
But ultimately even with a brother,
you must walk alone.

Through day and night,
drawing ever closer,
forward bravely suppressing fear.
Always remembering,
as your progressing,
the end is drawing near.
