There have been so many break-thru's  in Computer science over the years it's practically impossible to keep up. OK it IS impossible to keep up, I admit it, I am proof. So I'm hoping someone out there might be able to direct me to a site or apparatus to do what I want, or tell me there is no such thing.

I am hoping to find a PC component where-by you can speak and your speech is printed and then able to be sent in a response, an Email or any purpose for that matter. I had a friend that years ago had bought a download or component that would allow him to do just this. Though he would occasionally have to correct (I think due to accent) but sadly he is gone.

I would like to find something of this nature or be directed to a study of such a device .....Thanks-all...

Maybe I am not understanding what it is you are asking for, but the microphone on my cell phone does a pretty good job of speech to text. I just email it to myself, and can print from my laptop.
Thank You, we are on the trail, the game is afoot......
There used to be a software product called "Dragon naturally speaking" to convert speech to text. You might check into that.

I liked that program. You had to train it. But it did pretty well for a product back in the day.
