We're all a little jumpy right now.  My sons girlfriend is staying with us because power has been knocked out at her home, the hospital where I work is on skeleton staff, nurses, staff have been evacuated, or are hunkering down with no power.

A devistating wind storm nailed us last night, took our power for half the day, only got internet back about 2 hours ago.

The storm took out 18 feet of my splitrail fence.  But no other damage.

We're good and safe if we can last another day or two, then the weather's supposed to change.

If you look at the photo, the haze at the top is actually smoke from bigger wildfires east of us. tinybigeyes
That's too close.  tinybighuh

You all should pack a bag and get out while you still can.

Gatlinburg had a terrible fire just a couple of years ago. People waited too long, got trapped, and perished. All it takes is a slight change in the wind direction and it will be on you before you know it.

For goodness sake, don't go to sleep tonight!  If you stay there, someone needs to keep watch.

Stay safe and keep us updated.

On the plus side, I was talking to someone at the hospital today and she said, "At least the wild fires will kill the murder hornets!"

Will do, will try to take more interesting pictures.
I took some more pictures but it didn't grab the right atmosphere.

The sun is setting and everything is orange here.

It's wild.

I went on the local news site kptv12, to get this picture, (not our home) but this is the current color of our sky.

You could whisper, "End Times" and it'd be appropriate.

It's spooky.
My daughter and boyfriend are close to Salem, I think Corvallis?  and she sent some pics of the orange sky.

Scary shit , man.

I hope she stays safe, they're in a scary place right now.
Some photos around the house

These are the hills directly east of us, it looks like snow, but it's ash from all the wildfires to our east.

This is a tree in our back area.  It looks "flocked" but again, it's the ash.

This is out our back yard, the orange is fading. . . .
Some more orange at sunset
