The youth will be banning all our holidays next. They've torn down statues, removed true history information from the internet, now they're just waiting to get some of these air heads into the government to make our laws.

Sometimes I'm glad I'm old. If the world keeps going in this direction, I don't want to be here.

I know the feeling.

I've recently come to the conclusion that most of this world is no longer mine, it's theirs now. We delivered them a world they could work with, and if they want to break it, that's going to be their problem, not mine.

It wasn't a perfect world we gave them, not by any stretch of the imagination, but look at what they have now, technology-wise, compared to what we had when we were their age. I grew up trotting to an outhouse out back whenever nature called, and I doubt any of the younger generation even has a clue how to operate one. Contrast that with not even having to leave the house because your video game is in play, Facebook is calling, and your "smart phone" gives you everything else you need. I doubt they could even find the flush handle in an outhouse (that's an insider joke there, for the uninitiated).

So now, when they say "ok, boomer", I just smile and say "ok, kiddo - it's your world now... handle it!"

We did.

I'd bet you are correct!   tinylaughing

I saw a short clip of a father filming his teen son trying to open a can with a hand-held can opener the other day; the teen had no clue how to use it. He was baffled how it worked; tried turning it on it's side, backwards, and you name it - he never did figure it out.

Pathetic really.   tinysure

I laughed my ass off - no, seriously, it fell off, and I think rolled under the bed. I'll have to look for it later, after I'm done laughing. For our next trick, let's try to teach them how to turn sod with a spading fork, how to plow a field with a horse, how to stack hay up in shocks, and for advanced classes, how to move a hay stack from one part of a field to another using only a horse and a rope!

No wonder they are having a greenie moment and protesting against eating meat - ain't none of 'em got a clue how you get meat if the grocery store is out of stock!

They'll snort at your remarks and then Google the answers! Then after some deep thought, ask if the Mexicans
can do it for them.
