Quote:“The Tarim Mummies or the Mummies of Xinjiang are mysterious mummies that were discovered in the foothills of the Tian Shan Mountains in China. What is so mysterious about them is that some of them date back to roughly 4,000 years ago, a time when it was thought that there were no westerners in that area. However, there must have been, because the Tarim mummies are Caucasian. Not only that, but they wear similar garments and share similar burial practices of some European countries.”

Quote:"Considering the presence of haplogroups H and K in the Xiaohe people and the geographical distribution of shared sequences, we conclude that the west Eurasian component observed in the Xiaohe people originated from western Europe, and maternal ancestry of the Xiaohe people might have close relationships with western Europeans," Li and colleagues note. By the Bronze Age, the people buried at Xiaohe cemetery were already "admixed," coming together millennia earlier in Siberia and Mongolia.”

The DNA evidence, along with the startlingly "western" look of the bodies and their clothing make a very strong case that there were in fact western Europeans (or descendants thereof) living in ancient China at a much earlier time period than was previously thought.

Some of the newly discovered artefacts are believed to date back as far as 2.1 million years ago.

'Primitive humans may have ventured out of Africa earlier than previously thought, new evidence suggests.
Stone tools found during an excavation in China are thought to be about 270,000 years older than the previous
earliest evidence of a human presence outside Africa.

Chinese and British researchers believe the tools were made by another member of the homo evolutionary group,
rather than homo sapiens, as much as 2.1 million years ago. Until now, the oldest evidence of human-like creatures
outside the continent came from 1.8 million-year-old artefacts and skulls found in Dmanisi in Georgia.

The newly discovered artefacts were found on a plateau north of the Qinling mountains and include several chipped
rocks, fragments and hammer stones. The research, published in the journal Nature, also suggests that the ancient
humans returned to the same site repeatedly, possibly for hunting.

Bones of pigs and deer were discovered at the site but the scientists could not prove definitively that the tools were
used for hunting. Zhaoyu Zhu, a professor at the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, said the team was "very excited"
about the findings.

"One of my colleagues suddenly noticed a stone embedded in a steep outcrop.
After a short while, more artefacts were found -one after another."
However some other experts have said the findings should be taken with caution.

An anthropologist from William Paterson University in New Jersey, Geoffrey Pope, said he is "skeptical" and that the
discovery will "change very little". He explained that sometimes nature can shape stones in such a way that it appears
they have been carved by hand.

But Sonia Harmand, an archaeologist at Stony Brook University in New York, said: "This could be, frankly, one of the
most important (archaeological) sites in the world."..'

Here is an article I found on some of those red haired mummies in China.

More interesting finds, Bread that just shouldn't of been baked yet!

Quote:Archaeologists discover bread that predates agriculture by 4,000 years
That's right, 4000 years before Agriculture  tinywhat

OK, now if only they'd tell the Truth, a more advanced human race was walking and talking and baking bread long before they thought it was possible.
Quote:At an archaeological site in northeastern Jordan, researchers have discovered the charred remains of a flatbread baked by hunter-gatherers 14,400 years ago. It is the oldest direct evidence of bread found to date, predating the advent of agriculture by at least 4,000 years.

The findings suggest that bread production based on wild cereals may have encouraged hunter-gatherers to cultivate cereals, and thus contributed to the agricultural revolution in the Neolithic period.
Quote:"The presence of hundreds of charred food remains in the fireplaces from Shubayqa 1 is an exceptional find, and it has given us the chance to characterize 14,000-year-old food practices.
The 24 remains analysed in this study show that wild ancestors of domesticated cereals such as barley, einkorn, and oat had been ground, sieved and kneaded prior to cooking.
The remains are very similar to unleavened flatbreads identified at several Neolithic and Roman sites in Europe and Turkey. So we now know that bread-like products were produced long before the development of farming.

Ahhh, so they found the Bread, and over the following millennia they reverse-engineered it to make grain/crops/agriculture!
Makes perfect sense.

Good one Gordi  minusculebeercheers. I think what they tried to say was that humans knew how to use grain that grew wild to make bread. If you think about it humans must of known how to use grain before agriculture otherwise why grow it ?
Ah, so it was the grain that reverse-engineered the humans to make sandwiches out of Bigfoot?
Yeah? tinysurprised
