Protesters take action in Durham in response to violent far-right rally held in Charlottesville in
which a woman was killed.

'Protesters in North Carolina toppled a nearly century-old statue of a Confederate soldier on
Monday at a rally against racism.

Activists in Durham brought a ladder to the statue and used a rope to pull down the Confederate
soldiers monument. A diverse crowd of dozens cheered as the bronze statue fell and others
began to kick it.



Isaiah Wallace said he watched as the statue fell and said he hoped other Confederate symbols
elsewhere would follow. “I was a little bit shocked people could come here and come together
like that,” said Wallace, who is black.
“I feel like this is going to send shockwaves through the country and hopefully they can bring
down other racist symbols.”

The Durham protest was in response to a white nationalist rally held in Charlottesville, Virginia,
over the weekend. One woman was killed on Saturday after a car was driven into a group of
peaceful counter-protesters.

Although the violence in Virginia has prompted fresh discussion among government officials about
bringing down symbols of the Confederacy around the south, North Carolina has a law protecting
them.

The 2015 law prevents the removal of such monuments on public property without permission from

This Racial Discourse all started in 2008 with Obama giving the 13% of Black people In Our Country the Idea They are Running our Country and That their Opinion means More Than Any One Else's.
They are Entitled To Every Thing For Nothing in Return except Their Contempt!

Thing is, the civil war here was fought not over slavery, but over states rights. Slavery was simply the "emotional" thing they could toute in order they could rally people, this is proven by the fact there were northern slave states that were exempt from freeing their slaves. Only southern slaves states had to do this, and only so blacks would fight in the war. The abolitionists didn't want to allow blacks to stay in this country, but rather, they wanted to ship them back to Africa (although that is not what ended up happening in the end, in large part due to those "racists" who thought they were real people, who fought for the confederacy) 

To pretend that the confederate were a bunch of racists is BS. They were no more racist than northerners at the time, and the clear majority of people who fought in that war never owned a slave in their life. They fought to be free from federal control, and to have a voice in their own government. 

The communists are trying to both rewrite history, as well as erase it. Typical of communists. They are destroying property. And trying to destroy any symbol of independence. 

They are communists, it's not a big leap to know why they are doing this. But it's terribly sad, and if the government doesn't take action, it's not going to end well.

You are absolutely right, but from what I'm seeing being taught in our schools today, our youth (most of the protesters) have no idea about the TRUE history of our country; they just believe whatever the MSM or the leader of the next "protest" tells them. That $25 and up an hour that Soros is paying them doesn't help to keep things calm either.

Erasing those no longer in the favor of The Party is nothing new. It goes back to at least ancient Egypt, where Queen Hatshepsut was officially erased, her name obliterated from her monuments and statues after her death - all because she was a woman who dared to be a pharaoh.

Thompson was charged with participation in a riot with property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class H Felony) and inciting others to riot where there is property damage in excess of $1,500 (Class F Felony), the Sheriff’s Office said.

She also was charged with disorderly conduct by injury to a statue and damage to real property, both misdemeanors.

What an interesting name. "Takiyah" appears to be derived from "taqqiyah", an Arabic word meaning "to conceal the truth", i.e. "lie", if it can be used to one's advantage.

Dumbass move that they keep repeating. Not only is it illegal to block free passage in public spaces, it's also dangerous I hear, as there are folks around who don't mind mowing you down with their cars if you try to illegally detain them. Can't say that I blame such folks all that much - Reginald Denny, among many many others, took a hell of a beating that changed him forever and utterly ruined him for allowing such folk to block his passage. In military terms, they call that an "ambush", and some folks just won't stand for it.

They'll defend themselves by any means available, including keeping that several thousand pound chunk of metal on the move.

Well, I've actually worked with some of those deputies in Durham, back before "The Troubles" that saw me either either ejected from or fleeing from North Carolina (which one it is depends on who is telling the story). That's where I lived when we had our phone conversation.

Anyhow, "working closely with" does not give me the right to second-guess them, but I'm going to give an opinion of the rationale anyhow, because that's what I do - it's my "thing".

My best guess (and it's only a guess) is that the reasoning was "it's easier to arrest them one by one at our leisure than it is to face an overwhelming and outnumbering angry mob all at once". If you ever notice, the constabulary always seeks to be on the side of numbers whenever entering a fray. If they don't have the numbers to concentrate force and overwhelm the mob, then their choices are limited. they either A) get their asses handed to them and suffer a defeat, or B) have to open fire on said angry mob, which carries it's own set of defeats when the press and the likes of BLM, ANTIFA, Workers World Party, etc get a-hold of it and spin it up for the press.

Some times, in these interesting games, "the only way to win is not to play" until YOU have the numbers on your side for a concentration of force.

That's my best guess, anyhow. Take it for what it's worth - my opinion will get one a cup of coffee at McDonalds if you add $1.30 to it.

Oh.. and you were correct again, for when I asked the young lady behind the McDonald's counter,
